If you’re keen to mend your clothes, but don’t know where to start….start here!
Feeling intimidated before trying something new is normal.
Visible mending is a growing movement where mending becomes a feature. The techniques are simple and easy to learn.
What Will I Learn? This is a hands on class. You will learn basic stitches such as running stitch, backstitch and whipstitch. We’ll learn to how patch and how to replace a missing button. You will be able to tackle many basic mending jobs once you finish this workshop.
What Do I Need? There is the option to purchase a pre-prepared kit for this workshop. I have done all the sourcing and preparation for you. Kits are available for an additional $19 NZD + shipping and will be shipped to your address prior to the workshop. If you would prefer to source the items yourself, that is also fine. A supplies list will be sent to you prior to the workshop. All items are easy to find at a haberdashery store.
Where Can I Use These Techniques? The stitches taught in this course can be used for many different mending tasks – not just visible mending. They are also useful for other sewing projects too.
How does it work? This is a live online workshop. In the week prior to the workshop, you will be sent a Zoom call link. You will be able to interact and ask questions during the workshop.

Why is mending important?
We are hearing so much about the impact of over-consumption. Landfills are straining under the weight of our cast offs. There needs to be another way.
Learning to mend is a great place to start. It not only teaches valuable hands-on skills, but also helps us to begin to value and appreciate our belongings.
When we desire and appreciate the things we already own, we can turn away from mindless consumption and begin to feel truly content.
I’d love to help you begin on your Visible Mending journey – this creative endeavour is hugely rewarding.
The techniques are beginner friendly and achievable even for those who have never sewn before.
I invite you to join me & grab one of the limited spaces in this online workshop.
